Brand66

Just what the world needs: another blog from another self-important design guru. Brand66 is a design discussion presented by — me, Michael Rylander. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to work on some the world's great brands, like Apple, Sony, BMW, Fortune, and American Express.

Noma Bar

Illustration has made a serious resurgence in the past decade. The quality and diversity of art is daunting, and I've stopped trying to get a handle on it all. Best to just sit back and enjoy the tidal wave of creativity. Today's eye candy is work from Israeli born illustrator, Noma Bar. He creates wonderfully simple, yet clever illustrations, with a consistency which is scary. His Solo show “Bitter Sweet,” opening in Manchester next week, showcases the two sides of Bar’s work and personality: the darker politically active side paired with a lighter more playful outlook on life. Masculine/femine, young/old, weak/strong, dark/light, bitter/sweet.
