Brand66

Just what the world needs: another blog from another self-important design guru. Brand66 is a design discussion presented by — me, Michael Rylander. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to work on some the world's great brands, like Apple, Sony, BMW, Fortune, and American Express.

Red-breasted robin goes green

From Oooms Studio comes this nifty ornithological habitat. The Solar Birdhouse is exactly what it says. The roof has a solar panel that charges a small battery. At sunset a sensor turns on the illuminated perch, creating a whimsical glow in your garden and hopefully makes it easier for your birdies to get home. The entire thing is made out of meranti wood and measures 7.1 x 3.5 x 3.5 inches. Hook up enough of these dwellings in series and you might be able to sell the excess energy back for profit.
