If you behave like the internet wants you to behave, you now have accounts at Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, LinkedIn, and perhaps a bunch of other sites. It's an embarrassment of data. One way to make sense of it all is to create a virtual business card, with links to the various parts of your digital self. I've had this on my to do list for ages, but have been procrastinating just as long.
Thank goodness for Flavors.me. This new (free) service allows anyone to create an elegant website using personal content from the internet. As their homepage says, it's "ideal for personal homepages, lifestreaming, splash and microsites, celebrity fan pages, commercial promotion, brand marketing – and everything in between." Within a couple of minutes I had a functioning site. Thank you Flavors!

I also was excited about Flavor.me but immediately found they used Flash to display the "Name" field on all three offered templates. It seems to be the only such field on the site. Their explanation is that it's the only way to offer custom fonts in that field. It's really unfortunate. Lots of people these days using ClickToFlash and, of course, there's the recent release of iPad. Anyone trying to view your Flavor.me site under those circumstances won't see your name. Pretty big bummer.
Hi Bob,
I just visitied on my iPad and my name shows up. Your explanation about that field being controlled with Flash makes sense. And and yes, it's a bummer. But at least on the iPad it defaults to HTML text -- it looks like my name is now in Verdana or Arial. I wonder if a solution like Typekit would work for this?
