Brand66

Just what the world needs: another blog from another self-important design guru. Brand66 is a design discussion presented by — me, Michael Rylander. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to work on some the world's great brands, like Apple, Sony, BMW, Fortune, and American Express.

USB Typewriters

The Shining just wouldn't have been the same with Jack pecking out his insanity on a laptop. Sadly, the sound of metal keys flying through the air and striking paper is a fading memory. But there's hope. Following in the Steampunk movement, these repurposed typewriters ($300) have been modified to serve as honest-to-goodness keyboards. They feature functioning letters, numerals, punctuation marks, shift, capslock, spacebar, and even return carriages. As an added bonus, it still functions as a real typewriter. Just keep the carbon paper away from your shiny new iMac.
