Designed by Milanese designer Luca Schieppati, Ciclotte reinvents the stationary bike.
"The concept of the Ciclotte was created from the need to introduce a design into everyday living, which could be a real expression of contemporary living where work and relaxation, exercise and entertainment share a single dimension, within fluid spaces where all objects can interact with one another," says Luca. A mouthful, to say the least.
As cool as the bike looks, I can't help but be reminded of those stainless steel trophy kitchens seen in Architectural Digest that won't see a single meal cooked in them. Ciclotte could be the perfect complement: you don't eat, so no need to work off the fat.

When I first saw this photo, I thought I was looking at something from the early 1900's industrial era - actually I thought it was the flywheel from a Hiedelburg platen press: http://tinyurl.com/27jdpsq
My personal opinion is that this could have been executed in a much more elegant and simple manner giving it a much more contemporary feeling. And I'm wondering if the designer ever considered the fact that a lot of us prefer the recumbent style exercise bike because of low-back issues.
