If you can make it to Sperone Westwater gallery in NYC’s lower east side, treat yourself to this display of all things marble. I previously covered Fabio Viale’s amazing sculptures, but to see his life-sized tires in person is amazing. Tom Sachs’s Brute transforms an ordinary lightweight object to the extraordinary through the medium of marble. Most perplexing was Barry X. Ball’s Purity, a bust made of onyx in which you can see a face beneath the stone veil.
