By definition, the concept of modern changes from minute to minute. This year’s fresh can easily become last year’s stale. So I can image that designing a modern art museum might be one of the more challenging problems for architects. This new museum in Stockholm was a former electricity station dating from 1900, the structure has been refurbished to meet international museum standards, whatever those are. I like the perforated orange fa ade that both connects to the existing brick architecture and introduces a contemporary element to the neighbourhood. By Tham & Videgård.
