Brand66

Just what the world needs: another blog from another self-important design guru. Brand66 is a design discussion presented by — me, Michael Rylander. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to work on some the world's great brands, like Apple, Sony, BMW, Fortune, and American Express.

Moderna Museet

By definition, the concept of modern changes from minute to minute. This year’s fresh can easily become last year’s stale. So I can image that designing a modern art museum might be one of the more challenging problems for architects. This new museum in Stockholm was a former electricity station dating from 1900, the structure has been refurbished to meet international museum standards, whatever those are. I like the perforated orange fa ade that both connects to the existing brick architecture and introduces a contemporary element to the neighbourhood. By Tham & Videgård
