In case you missed it, Apple recentely unveiled plans for a new Cupertiono headquarters, scheduled for completion in 2015. The video of Steve Jobs presenting to the Cupertino City Council is fascinating in its own right. But recently, a treasure trove of plans and renderings were released. In typical Apple style, the concept is bold and pure in form.
The land, which totals around 150 acres, was bought by Apple from HP earlier this year. It has room for 12,000 people including a 3000 seated cafeteria, a solar roof and apricot orchard.
Jobs said, “There is not a straight piece of glass in this building, it’s all curved. We used our experience making retail buildings all over the world now, and we know how to make the biggest pieces of glass in the world for architectural use. And, we want to make the glass specifically for this building here. We can make it curve all the way around the building… It’s pretty cool.”
Plans available at 9to5Mac.
