Brand66

Just what the world needs: another blog from another self-important design guru. Brand66 is a design discussion presented by — me, Michael Rylander. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to work on some the world's great brands, like Apple, Sony, BMW, Fortune, and American Express.

Printing with water

Amazing. Beautiful. Wet. Canadian artist Nicholas Hanna has created a device that reinterprets the chinese tradition of using a water brush to write poetry in public spaces. His contraption uses a computer (mounted on the handlebars) to transmit passages to a row of solenoid valves. Each character of text is converted to dot matrix and the valves synchronize the release of droplets of water as the tricycle moves forward.
